The best of the hotel are the breakfast served in the small garden and the library upstairs with a nice view on the tage. Heureusement les transports publics sont efficaces, les taxis nombreux et facilement appelables en rue. We were recommended to one very poor one. Suggest they issue all guests with the local tourist guides to 'Santos' that exist. Also not very responsive to emails! It was about a 20 min walk to town but the ambience of the hotel was worth it. The library was located on our floor and it had a deck overlooking the river which was beautiful. The only complaint was the noise in the street when you opened the window at night. When you closed the windows the air conditioing didn't work all that great. However it is an expensive hotel and the bedroom was rather ordinary. Also there was a lack of attention to detail - ants in the bathroom, the hairdryer broken and no heat on chilly nights.
